Knowing what to write in a card can be difficult for some people even for those who usually have no problem expressing themselves.  Anyone can end up staring at the blank space inside a card and wondering what to write. Humor is a good idea, it can really brighten up someone's day and if it's funny, they will really remember the card. To use familiarity is the best tool for writing a funny message in someone's greeting card. Think of something you know that the card receiver is familiar with. This is going to take some creativity on your part and at the same time, communicates to the other person that you thought about your message.

If you have the goal of making someone cry with your greeting card message, you will actually going to put a little extra effort into your writing. You need to write an extremely personal message.
